Association Management Companies Fact Sheet

Association management companies, or AMCs, are for-profit businesses that manage associations to help them grow and prosper. They offer the expertise, staffing and resources that allow professional societies, trade groups, not-for-profits and philanthropic organizations to effectively manage day-to-day operations and advance their long-term goals. Why Choose an AMC?

Association Management Companies (AMCs) provide management and specialized administrative and consulting services to non-profit organizations using a for-profit approach. AMCs serve as an organization’s headquarters, managing day-to-day operations and becoming the public face of the organization. There are more than 600 AMCs worldwide collectively managing associations ranging in budget size from $50,000 to $16 million and representing more than 3 million members.

AMCs deliver high levels of expertise and accountability allowing associations to continue to increase their value and relevance to members. AMCs provide all of the staffing and resources needed for non-profit organizations, whether professional, trade, healthcare and charitable organizations. By effectively managing day-to-day operations, the AMCs can then work with the governing Boards of Directors to advance their long-term goals. With an AMC, volunteer leaders can look forward to increased membership retention and growth.

AMCs are purpose driven and business led. Tailored management solutions for the non-profit community.

AMCs tailor their services to meet your association's specific needs and goals. Whether your organization is in the market for full-service or specific services, AMCs leverage shared resources across multiple client associations to increase the means and capabilities available to you. Examples of services include membership, marketing, events, finance, governance, advocacy, and more. Because AMCs manage more than one association, their skills and knowledge base becomes broad and substantial. There is no better option for increased sustainability, continuity, and specialized expertise at a cost-effective rate that aligns with the organization’s needs.

AMCs provide their client associations with unparalleled flexibility, agility, and financial advantages, which makes the AMC model an excellent solution for managing your organization.
